We would love to see you at the National Federation of the Blind of Oregon Convention on October 11-13, 2019 at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Lake Oswego, Oregon.
On Friday, we will have a table at the tech expo. Stop by and chat with us about your tech issues, problems and needs or just to say hi. We’d love to see you.
On Saturday afternoon, we will be doing two (identical) breakout sessions:
Examining What is Possible in Assistive Technology
“Assume everything is possible until it isn’t” is a good motto to live by when dealing with assistive technology. Sometimes, however, it is hard to know what could be accessed with the right skills and knowledge and what truly needs a work around to accomplish a task. Most things are not either accessible or not accessible; they reside in a grey area. We will talk about how expanding your knowledge and problem solving skills can also expand what is accessible to you as a blind person. We will focus mostly on accessibility issues in college and in the workplace. Bring your questions and we will work together to expand what is possible.
Check with the NFBO website for more details about exact agenda times and information on registering for the convention.
