1400 SW 5th Avenue
Suite 690
Portland, Oregon 97201
Our building is called the Fifth Avenue Building. It is a 9 story office building that takes up the entire block between SW 5th and 4th and Clay and Columbia. Note that Columbia is a one way street going east, Clay is one way heading west. Fifth Avenue is one way going South, and 4th Avenue is one way going North.
The street level contains a 24 Hour Fitness on 4th and Columbia, a Kindercare on 5th and Columbia, and a FexEx Office on 5th and Clay. The main entrance to the building is on the west side of the building, mid block on SW 5th Avenue between Columbia and Clay. The building is on a steep hill inclining to the south. The entrance has a few steps on the northern side, but is threshold free further down, due to this incline.
The glass doors are inset approximately 5 feet. The doors are power assisted. Once you enter the lobby area, you are facing a set of elevators about ten feet in front of you. Enter the elevators and go to the sixth floor. When you exit the elevators, walk forward a few feet until you enter a hallway. If you are heading to our office, turn right and go to the first door on your right. There is a Brailled placard on the left side of the door with our company name and Suite #690 labeled. Please knock as we might be finishing up with another client. If you are headed to a larger class or community meeting, turn left instead of right at the hallway and go to the Conference Room, the second door on the left.
The men’s bathrooms are located past the conference room on the left. They are past a set of drinking fountains, four doors down to the left from the elevators and labeled in Braille. The women’s bathrooms are located past our office, three doors down to the right from the elevators and labeled in Braille. Emergency stair exits are located immediately past both bathrooms and a closet door. If the hallway turns, you have gone too far.

There is an inset on SW 5th Avenue for drop-off and pick up. Fifth Avenue is a very busy street with both car, train and bus traffic. This inset is for very temporary parking (less than 10 minutes). If dropped off here, you will need to head to the right several feet then turn left into the building. If you feel you need extra time to load and unload, you may wish to instruct your driver to park in the back (see below). Parking fees may apply.
Parking can be expensive and difficult downtown. There are a few options.
Our building has a parking lot directly behind the building. The entrance is on SW Clay between SW 4th and 5th Avenues. There are three disabled parking spaces there. Parking cost $3 per hour or $12 per day. If you enter from the parking lot, enter a door in the center of the building. Follow the ramped hallway around and you will find yourself coming from behind the elevators in the lobby. The elevators will be to your left.
There is a parking garage on SW 4th Avenue, one block east of our building. Parking is $4 per hour or $11.95 per day.
There is also a limited amount of metered parking in the surrounding downtown blocks.
